This summer has been very busy but a lot of fun. Last week we got to go to Utah for a Hepworth family reunion. On the way to Utah we went to Ridgecrest to visit Jinny and Omar and help them get settled in their new house. After Ridgecrest we drove to St. George Utah to stay at Michael's aunts house. On the way to St. George Michael got a speeding ticket in Barstow from the officer who trained Caleb Stewart...pretty random. While we were in St. George we got to see the play Les Misérables at the Tuacahn outdoor theater. We had a lot of fun and the play was amazing, thank you Maggie for watching Ava so we could go! After St. George we got to visit Tracie and John in Cedar City. They took to an ice cave (it was freezing) and on a short hike in the mountains to this waterfall with a cool tunnel that goes miles back and leads to a lake. We had a lot of fun visiting with them and we are so glad that they finally got married! We got to visit with a lot of Michael's friends that he hadn't seen in a while and we got to see a lot of Michaels family on the Carlin side as well as the Hepworth side. The reunion started off at Michael's grandpa's favorite restaurant, Chuckorama, which actually wasnt as bad as I thought it was going to be. After dinner we went to the cultural hall and played games. It was a lot of fun getting to see everyone again. We forgot to take pictures but here is a group shot of everyone that was able to come.
Two weeks ago we were able to go back to visit Michael's mission in the Dominican republic. It was an amazing experience and I hope that we will get to go back someday. We rented a twelve passenger van (my mom and Michael's parents joined us on the trip) and Michael was our tour guide. He drove us all around the island showing us all of his different areas. We were there for 8 days and we were on the go...we never stayed in the same place for more than two nights. I felt kind of bad for Michael because he had to translate for all three of us because none of us know Spanish. Because I don't know Spanish I didn't really get to really communicate with anyone, but they all were so sweet to us. Everyone loved Ava, strangers would come up to us to ask us if they could take pictures of her and they all wanted to hold her. Michael was such a great sport, thank you for putting up with us sweetie!
Michael and I met in September of 2005 thanks to a good friend of ours. We dated for a year and were married in the Sacramento Temple in December of 2006. We now have two little girls keeping us very busy and this blog is pretty much all about them.
